Got Job Stress? Join The Circus! Self-Published Author from the States Finds Her Niche in China
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 19, 2007 -- With the generous support of the most reputable publisher in China, Shanghai Peoples Publishing House (SPPH) -- a division of Century Publishing Group, Adela Josue Polin, MBA (pen name Adela JP), a self-published author from San Diego, California has successfully launched the Chinese version of her book 'The Corporate Circus' (TCC) at the annual Shanghai National book fair August 2007. This world renowned book fair is a week long consumer book show in Shanghai attended daily by over 40,000 book lovers.
The Chinese version of 'The Corporate Circus' is published by Shanghai Peoples Publishing House and has distributed the book throughout China under the Finance and Economic section of Xinhua bookstores, the biggest bookstore chain in China with over 2000 stores. It is also distributed and sold through SPPH's online affiliate www.ewen.cc (see link: http://www.ewen.cc/cache/books/view/38/view-0202010000964938.htm ).
Using a Chinese interpreter, Adela JP was able to showcase 'The Corporate Circus' before a large captive Chinese audience who were intrigued with the story and concept of TCC as a business "edutainment" property and amused by the animated office characters she created in the book and presented in plush doll form. Adela was given by her publisher two separate one hour long opportunity to present 'The Corporate Circus'.
"To my pleasant surprise, SPPH has prepared a fully staged presentation area with an open seating arrangement to help me showcase 'The Corporate Circus' properties. "I was thrilled by their generosity and the carte blanche reception I received from my publisher during my visit to the Shanghai book fair. It was Chinese hospitality treatment at its' finest!" said Polin.
The interactive Chinese audience were also highly entertained as they watched, for the very first time, short video clips from the U.S. musical production of 'The Corporate Circus' produced by TCC, Inc. and Rob Appel of Appel Presents in San Diego, California. TCC, Inc. has collaborated with musical director and composer Rayme Sciaroni who wrote the music and lyrics adapted from the English version of 'The Corporate Circus' book. This production is an on-going project with continued plans in the works to produce the 'first' ever American-Chinese musical co-production promoting cross-cultural exchange and friendship between the two countries.
After seeing the positive reception from the Chinese audience toward 'The Corporate Circus', Adela walked away with full confidence that TCC has a special place in China.
"There is definitely a need that can be fulfilled by TCC in this market. As China continues to adopt western business practices into their workplace, the Chinese people are hungry for knowledge that can help them cope with the daily challenges of corporate life. If you can combine both entertainment and education to teach Chinese people these western business principles and help them visualize the human element of corporate life in a humorous animated way, it's a winner!" said Adela
The senior editor for SPPH states the following about 'The Corporate Circus';
"Along with the continuous increasing of the white collars' pressure in the workplace, books that can guide them on how to release stress are becoming more and more popular. We have published similar books as well, but we can positively say there is no book that will be as distinct as 'The Corporate Circus'. The dramatic depiction of different kinds of work on the job by Amy (main character) makes our editor shout 'Bravo! Yes! That's it!' Reading 'The Corporate Circus' is like taking your complaints and problems to your intimate friends, and with their facetious advice, you'll experience a joyous travel to an enchanting office place, and later find you are the fairy with magical spell in the fairy tales world. You can also make your dreadful boss to be the most lovely and most sweet person as long as you try hard! Therefore, we have reasons to believe that this book will be loved by all of the Chinese readers, and will try hard to make it as an annual 'must read' book by the white collar!"
